In August of 2021, I walked into Dr. Guinn’s ‘Introduction to CommArts’ with so much anxiety and uncertainty about college. Everyone around me had always expected me to attend college and to succeed at it, so I did what I was told to do. I had absolutely no idea what I was truly here for, and I hardly knew anything about Communication Arts. I was quite confused and unsure about what those next four years would have in store for me. Little did I know it would all fly by in the blink of an eye. The Communication Arts department has opened doors to a career path that I never saw myself stepping into.
Since February 2025, I have been a Multimedia Journalist for the Logos, and I absolutely love getting to work for our student-run newspaper. The Logos has given me the skills to confidently publish my writing and has shown me how to take charge in a leadership position. Without the support of my Logos team and Brian Collister, I never would have had the confidence to lead the design of our website. Now I am so incredibly proud of myself for the work that I have done for our newspaper’s website.
I have truly found my place here in the Communication Arts department, and I feel at home within these walls. I am a multimedia journalist, public speaker, radio show host, short film director, screenwriter, skilled artist, and proud student of the Communication Arts Department. Thank you to the Logos and the Communication Arts Department for these amazing four years.
