The University Advising Center wants to remind you that registration for the Fall 2025, May, and Summer semesters is just around the corner. Here are just a few reminders to keep in mind as you prepare to register for the next part of your journey here at UIW.
Contact Your Advisor
Getting in touch with your advisor will ensure your registration goes smoothly this semester. Log on to Bannerweb or Degree Works on Cardinal Apps to look at your Academic Advisor’s contact information. Schedule an appointment with your advisor if you have questions about your degree, any scheduling conflicts, or just need general advice about your classes.
Know Your Registration Time
There are signs posted all around campus to ensure that students know their registration times. Here is a copy of that schedule for your convenience.

Dropping/Withdrawing From Classes
It is your responsibility to cancel your registration. If you do not drop and/or withdraw from courses as well as do not attend courses, you will be billed for the course and a failing grade will be issued. To ensure this does not happen, you must withdraw from the university before classes begin in order to cancel your enrollment and any resulting charges.
Check For Holds
Checking your holds as soon as possibly is highly recommended as registration approaches. It can take a while to resolve a hold, so you want to address any issues as soon as possible. Your holds can be found on BannerWeb Self Service. To access them, select “Student Services” then select “Student Records” then Click “View Holds” and look for “Registration” indicated in the “Process Affected” block. Holds that will prevent you from registering may include transcripts, an outstanding balance, a Perkins Loan, or exiting paperwork.
If you have any more questions about advising or registration you can email registrar@uiwtx.edu or advising@uiwtx.edu.
