The homeless population in San Antonio is roughly 3,372. Out of those unhomed, the majority of them have little to no access to medical care. The street medicine non-profit is all about going to people who cannot go to a traditional hospital. Film producer Robert Laurance saw just that, and wants everyone to as well.
“We can’t forget about our neighbors, forget the people that you know are all around us. And I think, unfortunately, we too often do that.”
The film was shown at Flix Brewery on behalf of Robert Mihara, a candite state representative who is running for house district 117. The hour and a minute film focused on specifically Kool-Aid, Johnny thirty stars, and Diane. While sharing the raw and real of what happens on the street.
“One of the examples we have is a phenomenal painter, he had his thumb amputated, he can’t even work at McDonalds.”
The homeless population are people to, there painters, past nurses, and your neighbors.
“Unfortunately, he is having to live under bridge, and society has forgotten about him. And that’s really a tragedy.”
