Although Mexican Heritage Month ended on the 15th, there is still more to celebrate!
Hispanic influence has shaped San Antonio’s identity for centuries. This month of celebration of heritage naturally leads into one of the city’s most meaningful traditions, Dia De Los Muertos rememberance.
The city hosts a celebration filled with altars, marigolds, papel picado, music, food, and art. Festivals across the city, form the Hemisfair to the historic missions, brings families together to honor ancestors while embracing the present. Both Mexican Heritage Month and Dia De Los Muertos remind San Antonio that it’s cultural heart lies in honoring the past while celebrating the traditions that continue to shape its vibrant identity today.
More information on the celebrations and events happening though Nov. 14 can be found on the San Antonio’s website at https://www.visitsanantonio.com/events/arts-culture-events/day-of-the-dead.
