On April 4, 2025, the UIW Communication Arts department hosted their spring annual Advising day.
Advising day is a three-hour long event that allows the students to discuss their Fall registration with their advisors. Not only does this event allow students to work on their schedules for the upcoming semester, but it also allows them to mingle and make friends with their fellow classmates.
The National Communications Association Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta, and the event planning class, put together Advising day and made room 265 AD feel like a community through snacks, drinks, music, and good vibes.
“Dr. Z is the best advisor ever!” said sophomores, Lio Cruz and Kase Victoria.
The professors are passionate, caring, and more than willing to help all their advisees with questions and concerns related to their degree plans.
Though the end of the semester and registration day can be stressful, being a part of the COMMunity makes the heavy things seem light.
“We enjoy Advising day because we get to spend time with our friends outside of the classroom and lend a helping hand to the students who may need it,” said senior, Danna Ramos and graduate student, Paige Heller.
